About Robe

Robe is located on South Australia’s Limestone Coast, 340kms south east of Adelaide and 580kms north west of Melbourne. The heritage centre of seafood, wine and coastal delight, Robe is a popular destination for visitors who enjoy a relaxing coastal retreat that offers gourmet produce and wine.  Visitors can enjoy surfing, natural walks, fishing and four-wheel driving along Robe’s long beach, or enjoy gourmet delights in numerous cafes and restaurants.

Visitors can travel further a field and visit some of the nearby wineries including Cape Jaffa, Mount Benson, Wangolina Station and Waterhouse Range. A walk to explore the Beacon Hill Lookout and Old Robe Jail will also offer fantastic views of the rugged coastline.

IGA is Robe's main supermarket. Please note that the opening hours are typically more restricted than those in the city.

Banks

There are two major banks in Robe: the Bendigo Community Bank and BankSA. Bank hours are typically 9.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday, although ATMs allow 24/7 access to funds.

Libraries and Internet Access


The Robe Public Library is located in Smillie Street and is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am - 5.00pm and 10.00am - 4.00pm Saturday and Sunday.

Internet access is available at the library.


Post Offices, Fuel and Other Services

The Robe Post Office is located at 2 Bagot St and is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am-5.00pm.

Travel Times

Robe is located 336 kilometres south east of Adelaide and is accessible by both car and train/bus. The travel time by car is approximately 4 hours.
