About Port Fairy
Port Fairy is located on the south west coast of Victoria, a 25 minute drive west of Warrnambool. The town has safe swimming beaches, excellent walks and boasts a thriving arts and crafts community, with many galleries and studios to visit. There are activities and festivals year round, and the world-famous Port Fairy Folk Festival draws thousands of people from all parts of the globe.
Port Fairy has a sheltered harbour, excellent wharf walk and fishing fleet which keeps the town supplied with fresh seafood daily. It has a range of a la carte restaurants as well as lovely coffee shops and great fish’n’chips. The town has retained much of its colonial architecture, providing visitors with a fascinating insight into the history of one of Victoria's earliest ports. As you drive into this charming Shipwreck Coast town the number and variety of historic buildings is strikingly evident. Fishing and swimming are popular activities, and surfers will enjoy the great breaks readily available on the south shoreline. West of Port Fairy, ‘The Crags’ is located along a rugged stretch of coastline, and provides walking tracks and beautiful scenery. A bit further on, the township of Yambuk is home to an historic hotel and the Codrington Wind Farm Power Generator.
Shopping
IGA is the local supermarket in Port Fairy. Please note that the opening hours are typically more restricted than those in the city, and in most towns the typical opening hours are from 7am-10pm daily.
The Port Fairy Craft Market is held on the 2nd Saturday of every month between 9am-2pm and the Port Fairy Farmers Market is held on the 3rd Saturday of every month between 8am-2pm in Railway Place.

Banks
There are 3 major banks including the Commonwealth Bank, ANZ and the St George Bank. Bank hours are typically 9.00am-4.00pm Monday to Friday, although ATMs allow 24/7 access to funds.
Libraries
The Corangamite Regional Library is located in Sackville Street and is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10.30am-5pm and Saturday from 10am-Midday.
