About Penshurst

Penshurst is located 70km north of Warrnambool and the Great Ocean Road, 30km south of the Grampians and 272km south west of Melbourne on the Hamilton Highway. The town is nestled at the foot of a dormant volcano, Mount Rouse, and is a great base to explore the beautiful Grampians National Park.

Penshurst has a hospital with extensive aged care facilities and a variety of rural and domestic trades and services. Agriculture is the main industry in the area. Visitors can enjoy the Penshurst Water Gardens, or follow Victoria’s Volcanic Trail, of which Mount Rouse is a feature.

The Penshurst Licensed Grocer is located in Bell St for most of your supermarket needs, however, Hamilton is only a 20 minute drive should you require anything that is not available here. Please note that the opening hours are typically more restricted than those in the city, and in most towns the typical opening hours are from 7am-10pm daily.
