Millicent is located in the south-east of South Australia, roughly equi-distant from Mount Gambier, Penola and Beachport. The main industries include pulp and paper manufacturing at Kimberly-Clarke, various primary production crops and pine and blue gum plantations.

Woolworths and IGA are the main supermarket chains in Millicent. Please note that the opening hours are typically more restricted than those in the city.
Nangula Country Market is held from 8.30am - 1.00pm on the 2nd Sunday of every month (except January) at the Nangula Hall, 5km south of Millicent on the Princes Highway.

Throughout Millicent you will find a range of dining opportunities, ranging from hotels and restaurants to cafes, bakeries, and numerous take away venues.
Sports, Recreation and Tourism
There is no shortage of sports in Millicent with football, netball, sailing, swimming and basketball clubs, a golf course and fitness centre.
A must visit when in Millicent is Lake McIntyre, a native wildlife and vegetation reserve that has been created in an old quarry. There are free BBQ's, picnic areas, walking trails and amenities.The reserve is open daily until dusk.
You can also take a self-guided tour through The Living History Museum. Major displays include 25 fully restored buggies, carriages and wagons, Aboriginal deep cave art replicas and a Shipwreck room.
West of Millicent you will find Canunda National Park, featuring spectacular sand dunes, open beach, walking trails and boardwalks. Great for nature lovers, fishing and exploring.
For those visiting the region, the Blue Lake at Mount Gambier, the Coonawarra wine region and the historic town of Penola are also only a short drive away.

There are four major banks in Millicent - the Australia and New Zealand Bank (ANZ), Australian Central Credit Union, Bank SA and Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA). All are located in George Street. Bank hours are typically 9.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday, although ATMs allow 24/7 access to funds.
Libraries and Internet Access
The Millicent Public Library is located in Ridge Terrace. Opening hours are Tuesday and Friday from 9:00 am - 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm; Wednesday and Thursday, 9:00 am - 5:30pm, and Saturday, 9:00 am - 12.00pm. The library is closed on public holidays.
Internet access is available at the Millicent Public Library and the Millicent Visitor Information Centre.

The Millicent Post Shop is located at 52 George Street and is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am - 5.00pm.
There are three main pertol stations: Ampol, BP and Pines Service Stations. All are located on Mt Gambier Road. They are open weekdays and Saturday mornings.
There is a laundromat located in George Street and Wyree Road (Billygoat Corner).
