Horsham, situated 300 kilometres north west of Melbourne and 450 kilometres south east of Adelaide, is centrally located to many Wimmera tourist areas and attractions providing a range of activities. The city boasts a vibrant shopping precinct with a wide variety to choose from. Its coffee shops and restaurants are fast gaining a reputation for variety and quality.
Horsham also hosts a range of quality major events from sport to cultural interests. The Horsham golf course is known as country Victoria’s best, as awarded from the pro-am circuit.
The Horsham Regional Art Gallery hosts some very important exhibitions from time to time and is well recognised. The local olive groves and wineries are another drawcard for the area. In normal seasons the region boasts many fine lakes and a Wimmera River system that is extremely popular with fishing, boating, swimming and water enthusiasts.
Cropping and agriculture are the main industries in the Horsham region.

Safeway and Coles are the main supermarket chains in Horsham. Please note that the opening hours are typically more restricted than those in the city, and in most towns the typical opening hours are from 7am-10pm daily.
The Horsham Market is held on the 2nd Sunday of every month at the Horsham Showgrounds in McPherson St.

There are 4 major banks including the Bendigo Bank, St George, Rural Finance and Rabobank. Bank hours are typically 9.00am-4.00pm Monday to Friday, although ATMs allow 24/7 access to funds.
Libraries
The Horsham Library is located at the Mibus Centre in McLachlan St and is open Monday-Friday from 10am-5.30pm and 9.30am-1pm on a Saturday.
Internet Access
Internet access is available to students in Horsham at Wimmera Hub, in the Civic Building in Urquhart St Horsham Monday-Friday from 9am-4.30pm.
Post Offices
There are 2 Post Offices in Horsham, the first is located at 29 Firebrace St and is open from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday and the other is located at 15 Bennett Rd and is open from 6am-8pm Monday-Friday and 7.30am-8pm saturday and Sunday.
