Bordertown is approximately 275 kilometres east of Adelaide with a population of approximately 2,300.  Bordertown is a rich agricultural district with production of cereals, vegetables, seeds, wool, meat and wine grapes.

Sports, Recreation and Tourism

Bordertown offers a number of recreational activities including, fishing, boating, walking trails, golf, a skate park, outdoor swimming pool, speedway and tennis.

The Tolmer Park has a wonderful interpretive walk and unique public toilets located in original gaol cells.  The nearby wetlands reserve set amongst magnificent red gums centuries old is also a great spot for picnicking and yabbying.

Spend some time at the faithfully restored Clayton Farm Heritage museum to experience farm life as it was more than a century ago. Bordertown was the birth place of the former Prime Minister Bob Hawke and the Council lobby boasts the Bob Hawke Gallery. Bordertown is also famous for its colony of white kangaroos.

A 260-seat cinema is used regularly for movies and/or stage productions or shows. This is situated above the Library in Woolshed Street.

The are four major banks in Bordertown - Australia and New Zealand Bank (ANZ), BankSA, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) and Westpac. Bank hours are typically 9.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday, although ATM's allow 24/7 access to funds.

Library and Internet Access

The Bordertown Library is located at 55 Woolshed Street and is open Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 9.30am - 5.30pm; Wednesday and Thursday from 9.30am - 6.00pm and Saturday from 9.30am -11.30am.

Internet access is available to students in Bordertown at the Library and the Bordertown Visitor Information Centre.
