Student Tracking Project
The Student Tracking Project is examining whether undertaking a rural or regional clinical placement influences a student's decision to subsequently take up work in a rural or regional area. You can read more about the Student Tracking Project by clicking here.
Since 2004 students who undertake placements in the Greater Green Triangle region have been invited to participate in this research project. Students are asked if they are willing to participate in the study by completing a survey at the end of their placement and a follow-up survey one year after their graduation. The survey asks questions about your experience of rural areas prior to your placement; your placement experience; and your current occupation and professional aspirations. The questionnaires are de-identifiable and all data is kept securely. Obviously some identification is necessary for the follow up, but any identification of individual students is only available to the project researchers and does not pose any risk to those students who participate in the research.
If you have undertaken, or are undertaking, a placement in the Greater Green Triangle region and you would like to participate in this study you can do so by contacting Dr Adrian Schoo. You will be mailed an Information Kit, including a Research Consent form and a placement Evaluation form. In mid-October these forms will be available online.
