Diabetes Prevention

Centre of Clinical Research Excellence (CCRE): Clinical Science in Diabetes: NHMRC-funded Centre for Clinical Research Excellence at the University of Melbourne. Professor James Dunbar is a member of the CCRE-Diabetes team.

Epigenetic Factors in Diabetes (EPI-FIND) Project Study: This project aims to identify epigenetic (environmental) causes of diabetes during pregnancy.

Life! helping you to prevent diabetes, heart disease and stroke: Department of Health Victoria-funded lifestyle behaviour change program for Victorians at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Melbourne Diabetes Prevention Study (MDPS); A Randomised Control Trial of its Efficiacy, Effectiveness and Cost Effectiveness: NHMRC-funded study evaluating the Life! helping you to prevent diabetes, heart disease and stroke program.

Mothers After Gestational Diabetes in Australia (MAGDA) study: Preventing Diabetes in Pregnancy from Progressing to Type 2 Diabetes (Preventing Diabetes in Pregnancy from Progressing to Type 2 Diabetes: Macrolevel System Change in South Australia and Victoria): NHMRC and partner-funded program focussing on developing and implementing a system of care to reduce the risk of progression to type 2 diabetes in women who have had gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).

The process of care in managing people with type 2 diabetes: What is the impact of peer support on uptake and effective implementation of care plans in the self management of diabetes?: Diabetes Research Australia Trust (DART) - funded evaluation of the impact of a peer support intervention for people with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) on the initiation of GP management plans, (GPMP), team care arrangements (TCA) and the roles of the respective participants in the care plans.

 

Pharmacy

Rural Pharmacy Liaison Officer Program (RPLO): Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing-funded program focussing on the education and training needs of pharmacists based in rural and remote areas. This project replaces the previous Pharmacist Academics at University Departments of Rural Health (PAUDRH) program.  This program works closely with the GGT UDRH's Student Support Program to increase the number and improve the experience of pharmacy students placed in the region.

Primary Health Care

Centre of Excellence for Research in Building Quality, Governance, Performance and Sustainability in Primary Health Care through the Clinical Microsystem Approach: Australian Primary Health Care Research Institute (APHCRI, Australian National University)-funded Centre of Excellence aimed at identifying best practice quality and safety procedures and implementation in a general practice setting.
