Education and Training
The GGT UDRH has a strong education and training program as part of its commitment to strengthening the numbers and capacity of health professionals within the Greater Green Triangle region. The program is driven by the issues of lower recruitment and retention of health professionals to the region, and contemporary issues that face many regional, rural and remote areas. The education and training program focuses on continuing professional education for medical, allied and other health professionals, research capacity building for primary health care workers (PHCRED), and academic programs for both pharmacists (PAUDRH) and mental health professionals (UDRH Mental Health).
The GGT UDRH also runs a Student Support program that provides support for undergraduate and postgraduate students undertaking clinical or research placements in the region. Services include the provision of accommodation, orientation to the region, access to information technology facilities, and education and training opportunities that together help ensure successful and high quality clinical placements for students.
