Professor Tiina Laatikainen

Adjunct Professor Laaitkainen has been involved in research at the the National Institute of Health and Welfare (THL) for more than a decade. She is a world leader in the research field of chronic disease prevention and is currently Chief of the Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Unit.
Adjunct Professor Tiina Laatikainen (MD, PhD) has worked with the GGT UDRH since 2004 when she headed the Department's Public Health program and led the implementation of the Diabetes Prevention Project Initiative, the inaugural work undertaken by the Department into diabetes prevention in the Greater Green Triangle region. She has since remained in close association with the Department, co-authoring journal papers; participating in grant applications; mentoring staff, and participating in research writing retreats and workshops.
