Professor Prasuna Reddy is Chair of Rural Mental Health and Director Health Services Research. She is a practicing health and organisational psychologist and her areas of expertise are applied psychology in health systems, and professional ethics. Professor Reddy is responsible for managing a number of grants held by the Department which are examining co-morbidity and the clinical links between depression, heart disease and diabetes. She also facilitates the Department's writing groups for the PHC RED program and is active in an advisory and mentoring role for Department staff and the PHC RED bursary holders. She has given numerous invited presentations in Australia and overseas at universities, hospitals and community health arenas and her publications include several books, book chapters, refereed journal articles and contracted reports. Currently she is on the editorial board of the international journal Constructivist Psychology and is the Deputy Editor of the Australian Journal of Rural Health. She was previously a senior academic in the School of Behavioural Science, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Melbourne.
