Dr Adrian Schoo is Director of Workforce Development at the Greater Green Triangle University Department of Rural Health, Flinders and Deakin Universities, and is Deputy Director. He has an interest in rural health workforce and health service enhancement and the implementation of more effective workforce models that utilise professional expertise and interprofessional collaboration, and that can improve career paths and retention in rural Australia. Current tasks include the provision of needs-based continuing education to 22 allied health professions in rural Victoria. This program is now accessible in a number of other states in Australia. In the Greater Green Triangle region Dr Schoo is involved in the Primary Health Care Primary Health Care Research and Evaluation Development program (PHC RED) for rural health professionals. Other tasks include maximising student placement and providing student support. Clinical interests include musculoskeletal management, the link between physical health and mental health in chronic disease, and identifying and addressing barriers to maintain physical activity and exercise.
