The GGT UDRH coordinates an extensive education and training program that encompasses seminars, workshops and training sessions across a range of disciplines and topics.
2012 Program
Aboriginal Health
Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training: Excursions to a local Aboriginal community that aim to expose students and health professionals to both Aboriginal health and cultural issues relevant to the Greater Green Triangle region and to their clinical placement. This program is run in collaboration with local Aboriginal communities.
Primary Health Care
Primary Health Care Research Evaluation and Development (PHCRED) Education and Training Program: Research skills training sessions for PHCRED research bursary-holders, PHCRED-affiliated researchers and GGT UDRH academic staff. Health professionals within the Greater Green Triangle region with an interest in primary health care research are also welcome to attend.
Public Health
Population Health Seminar Program: Seminars on the population and disease trends of the Greater Green Triangle region for students on clinical placement within the region. These seminars also explore the challenges of rurality and it's implications for public health and Aboriginal health. Health professionals within the Greater Green Triangle region are also welcome to attend.
Workforce
CPDWorks (formerly the Statewide Allied Health Workforce Education Program (SAHWEP)): (This link opens to the CPDWorks "CPD for Allied Health Professionals" website where registration is necessary to access the 2011 program): Professional development seminars and workshops for allied and other health professionals. Allied health practitioners from South Australia, Northern Territory, Tasmania and Queensland Health, and Services for Australian Rural Remote Allied Health (SARRAH) members are able also to access this website.
